Data Input
Data Input Summary
There are several ways to get data into the two Input boxes
Select Data at Startup (Pre–select)
- The first button shows the data preselected and the right mouse–button menu, ready to launch In–Cell,
- The second button shows the first and last numbers in the selection entered into inputs #1 and #2 as soon as In–Cell has been launched,
Note that as the initial selection included one empty cell after the last number, this cell has been selected, ready for a result to be pasted into it.
- The third button shows the situation after clicking 'Paste'. The result value is now in the previously selected cell and the Active Cell has moved one cell
in the default direction. (Default direction is selectable through 'Options' – right, down or 'no move').

Resample Spreadsheet Cells
- The first button shows the result of using the copy button for input #2. The Active Cell was highlighted and is used as the source of the Copy function.
Note that the Active Cell is highlighted by a double red outline. The Active Cell outline is user selectable – see options.
- The second button shows the Resample function. In this case two numbers have been selected and with no blank cell after the second number
- The third button shows that after clicking Resample, inputs #1 and #2 contain the two selected numbers. The Active Cell has moved. If an empty cell had been selected at the end
of the range, this would have been selected as the Active Cell.
Note that the input values can be swapped with the Input 1 <> Input 2 button in the exchange group.
The Exchange group is hidden in this example – click on the horizontal bar (highlighted in green) to display the buttons in the exchange group.

Transfer Data from Clipboard
- The first button shows the clipboard data copied to the Result box, using the CB button (shown highlighted by red outline).
The data came from a copy function – the insert shows data being copied from a Word document. Only data that the Windows clipboard function can convert to numeric format will be pasted.
- The second button shows the data transferred to Input #2 using the Inp2 button, (shown highlighted by red outline).

Transfers and Exchanges
- The first button shows data in the calculator prior to an exchange.
The data came from cells C15 and D15 using the Resample button. The value excluding tax has been calculated and the value is in the Result box.
- The second button shows the effect of exchanging input #1 and input #2.
This exchange allows the percentage calculation to be used as shown in by the third button.
- The third button shows a transfer from the Result box to input #2.
The result of the last calculation (amount excuding tax) is now in input #2, and a percentage calculation has been performed using the As% button, (the tax rate is 14% !). The calculation type shows as A%, i.e., input #1 as as percentage of input #2.

Input from Special Functions
- The first button shows a number written as text, prior to conversion.
Note that the conversion boxes at the bottom of the calculator can be hidden or displayed by clicking on the horizontal bar above the section.
The colour of the input boxes, and the associated text is user configurable – you don't have to accept this colour !!!.
- The second button shows the number in the 'Text as #' Display box.
If there are multiple numbers, as in Cell B15, the display button cycles through all the values found. Whichever value is in the display box can be pasted or transferred using one of the three buttons to the right, (Inp 1, Inp 2, or Paste).
- The third button shows the result after clicking both the Inp 1 button and the Paste button.
The value (316000) is now in both cell C14 and Input #1.
If multiple numbers are extracted, double clicking the Paste button will transfer the values sequentially to cells either to the right, or down, depending on the option selected by the user.
The date option display rotates through the date elements, (year, month, day), the time, a text string for the whole date, and a number representing the date.
If there are several dates in the text, all the elements of each date are displayed in turn. (The date extract does not currently support a double click to transfer all these elements – the required elements are selected using the display button, and then paste or transfer as required.
